Chaplain
My name is Tom Love and, as some of you may know, I was nominated and accepted to be MOAA’s Central Florida Chapter’s Chaplain. It will be an honor to serve you.
A little about me. I joined the Army in 1970 and served for six years in the Infantry. In 1980 I was ordained a minister in the United Methodist Church and served as pastor of a small church near Pittsburgh for three years before joining the Navy. I was a Navy Chaplain for 14 years before retiring in 1998. I then served as a hospice Chaplain for ten years. The last two years I have been the District Chaplain for the American Legion. I’m also doing various volunteer work along with some self-employed jobs.
I am married with five children and eight grandchildren. Spending time with them is most rewarding. I have lived in Winter Springs for the last 25 years. Who knows, maybe some year I’ll get used to the heat!
If there is anything I can do to help you and your families, I am always available. I’ve been a Chaplain long enough to know that a crisis can occur at any time so please feel comfortable about contacting me.
I look forward to meeting many of you at upcoming meetings and activities. I want you to feel that I am your Chaplain, and I’m here for you.
